Fleet-Ready EV Built from Proven DNA
Škoda has entered the electric light commercial vehicle (LCV) segment with a new variant: the Enyaq Cargo. Developed in the UK with Strongs Plastic Products Ltd, this model is designed specifically for fleet customers. It's not a repurposed passenger car—it’s registered from the start as a commercial vehicle with the DVSA.
The Skoda Enyaq Cargo is based on the Skoda Enyaq 85 and 85x, two of Škoda's most capable EV platforms. Expect long range, rapid charging, and practicality without compromise. Unlike previous third-party conversions, this is Škoda’s first factory-approved battery-electric commercial vehicle.
Why It Matters to Fleets
Fleet operators need cost savings, reliability, and efficiency. The Enyaq Cargo hits these metrics:
- Zero emissions for urban compliance.
- All-wheel drive available (85x) for tough weather or rural conditions.
- Fast charging cuts downtime.
- Cargo-optimized cabin increases usable volume.
Target Buyer: Utility and Infrastructure
Škoda developed the Enyaq Cargo with National Grid Energy Distribution (NGED). NGED ordered 70 units and runs one of the UK’s largest EV fleets with over 900 electric vehicles in service. These aren't vanity buys. They're mission-critical tools.
Powertrain and Range Options
Variant | Drive Type | WLTP Range (miles) | Max Charging Speed (kW) | 10–80% Charge Time |
---|---|---|---|---|
Enyaq 85 | Rear-wheel drive | 359 miles | 135 kW | ~28 minutes |
Enyaq 85x | All-wheel drive | 332 miles | 175 kW | ~28 minutes |
Škoda delivers two critical things here: long range and fast recharge cycles. Fleet uptime improves when drivers don't sit at chargers for hours. With access to DC rapid charging, the Skoda Enyaq Cargo becomes viable for daily delivery and field service applications.
Conversion: Function, Not Flash
The interior is gutted and rebuilt. Strongs Plastic Products used lightweight, high-strength materials to reduce vehicle mass while meeting UK safety standards. A fixed bulkhead separates the cargo zone from the cabin, ensuring load containment and crew safety.
The result: a flat, open cargo area that accommodates tool racking, shelving, or custom load-outs. This isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach. Customers can spec their builds depending on operational needs.
Key Features
- Durable interior plastics resist damage
- Lightweight bulkhead protects passengers
- Flat load floor supports modular storage
- Cargo volume tailored to fleet specifications
